SDJBA Supports AJ Cup
The San Diego Japanese Business Association (SDJBA) proudly supports the AJ Cup, a golf tournament sponsored by the Japan Society of San Diego and Tijuana (JSSDT), a non-profit organization.
Now in its 22st year, the AJ Cup has provided a wonderful opportunity for individuals to enjoy playing golf and sharing dinner with others, contributing to events that foster cultural, educational, and business exchange between San Diego, Tijuana, and Japan. The proceeds from the tournament are dedicated to supporting these meaningful initiatives.

AJ Cup
The AJ Cup is named in honor of Mr. Arthur “AJ” Jonishi, 2002 recipient of the JSSDT Business Leadership Award.
AJ was instrumental in choosing San Diego as the home for Kyocera, the first Japanese-parented manufacturing company in California. In addition, he helped establish and served as the first chairman of Minato Gakuen, a school for children of all Japanese expatriate families in the San Diego/Tijuana region.
Shamble Format
A team of golfers selects the one best drive among them after teeing off, then all four play their own golf balls from that position into the hole.

Mission: To promote goodwill and advance business, civic, educational, and cultural interchange and understanding between the people of Japan, San Diego, and Tijuana.
Founded in 1996, the Japan Society of San Diego and Tijuana (JSSDT) is a non-profit membership organization of individuals and corporations with a focus on tri-national relations between Japan, the United States, and Mexico. The JSSDT is an affiliate of the National Association of Japan-America Societies headquartered in Washington, D.C. Tournament proceeds support the many JSSDT educational programs and cultural programs
